The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on Just Fossil Fuel Transition and the international research group “Climate Change, Territories, Diversity” are pleased to invite you to our Second International Conference on Climate Actions and Just Transition of two days: 11th and 15th December.

The conference will be held in English and simultaneously interpreted into Spanish and Italian. The participation is open and free of charge.

The first online day (11st December | 14.00 -17. 30 (UTC+1) of the conference is part of the Smart and Sustainable Planning for Cities and Regions Conference organized by EURAC Research within the session “Intersecting the Multiple Scales of Climate Justice: Mapping Inclusive Adaptation and Just Fossil Fuel Transitions“. The aim of the first day is collects study cases, perspectives, challenges, and critical reflections on “just transitions” and “just adaptation,” aiming to stimulate debate and promote the recognition and integration of climate justice into climate policies across different governance scales.

The second online day (15th December | 14.30 – 16.30 (UTC+1)), instead, is conference session titled “Critical Remote Sensing: alternatives trajectories of Earth Observation for the Just Transition” inside the Beyond Globalization: Trajectories Conference organized by Società di Studi Geografici. During the second day, the Centre wants to reflect on the critical remote sensing approach and its methodologies such as citizen science, community drones, and counter-mapping. Presenting fieldwork and territorial remote analyses conducted worldwide to support the redesign and decision-making processes in favor of a just transition at the local level.

The conference will be held in English and simultaneously interpreted into Spanish and Italian. The participation is open and free of charge.
