The first international “Transitioning away fossil fuel” held in Santa Marta from 24th to 29 April, in which the climate mot conference is getting closer where the climate multitude will come together to discuss and draw up a roadmap towards a just transition away from the fossil fuel sector. The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on Just Fossil Fuel Transition (JFFT) is one of the organisations forming part of the global civil society network aimed at influencing climate governance and, above all, gathering the demands of climate movements and local communities. There can be no transition without climate and social justice, the protection of human rights and a decolonial approach.
In the preparation for this historic moment, the JFFT is organising and taking part in a series of events during Padova Climate Action Week (PCAW), which will take place between 11 and 19 April. The JFFT is a strategic partner in this initiative. The initiative offers a series of events aimed at bringing together a diverse network of stakeholders to foster constructive dialogue and accelerate joint action on issues such as climate change, cities and adaptation, sustainable mobility, decarbonisation, energy and the role of civil society.
