The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on Just Fossil Fuel Transition is an associated partner of the Red para la Reducción de Combustibles Fósiles en América Latina y el Caribe (CFAL).
The Red para la Reducción de Combustibles Fósiles en América Latina y el Caribe (CFAL) is a regional network that brings together researchers, civil society organizations, Indigenous Peoples, grassroots movements, and policy experts committed to advancing a just and equitable transition away from fossil fuels across Latin America and the Caribbean.
CFAL promotes collaboration, knowledge exchange, and joint advocacy to accelerate the phase-out of fossil fuels while advancing climate justice, social equity, and environmental sustainability. The network supports evidence-based research, capacity building, and policy dialogue, fostering regional cooperation to address the interconnected challenges of climate change, energy transition, and sustainable development.
Recognizing the region’s social, ecological, and cultural diversity, CFAL works to amplify local and Indigenous perspectives, strengthen community-led initiatives, and promote transition pathways that prioritize human rights, territorial sovereignty, and the protection of ecosystems.
Through collaborative projects, public events, research activities, and strategic partnerships, CFAL contributes to shaping a fossil fuel-free future for Latin America and the Caribbean based on justice, solidarity, and international cooperation.
